How a Show Home Passed H1 Without Thermally Broken Windows - and Saved $15,000

A show home has one job: make people want the development behind it. This one was narrowly failing H1 compliance, and the obvious next step was R0.50 high performance glazing - a costly upgrade that would have made no visual difference to the home at all.

Spending big money on something a buyer never notices is the wrong move for a show home. So we ran the project through Hone, and changed the framing in sections of the home and removed insulation in areas that barely moved the numbers, while sharpening the high-impact elements that actually carry the performance.

Same compliance result, without the expensive windows. That approach saved the builder $15,000, which they redirected into the visually impressive features that sell a development.
